Advertisements have a great deal of affect on consumer behavior; this is true because it happened to me the other night. KFC has a new meal and every time I am watching TV they are advertising it; so the other night I drove by a KFC (not intending to eat KFC), stopped my car and went in to buy their new meal. Advertising can make consumers do things they never planned on doing because they are exposed to something so often it can affect the way they behave.
Consumer motivation can also affect consumer behavior. Motivations are the driving forces behind human action as consumers are driven to address real needs. In my case, I was hungry and exposed to the KFC advertisement so much that it affected my decision on what I wanted to eat.
Along with motivation, you have to distinctions, utilitarian and hedonic. Utilitarian motivation involves a desire to acquire products that can be used to accomplish something and hedonic motivation involves a desire to experience something gratifying. In my case again, both utilitarian and hedonic motivation can be applied to my situation. Acquiring the meal from KFC accomplished the goal of filling up my stomach and it also gave me a gratifying feeling because I wanted to experience the new meal from KFC.
I do believe that advertisement plays a major role on how consumer’s behavior and the way advertising is becoming such a huge aspect of our world; it will only continue to influence consumer behavior even more.

I have seen many advertisements but recently I have been seeing Nabisco Oreo snacks everywhere. Even in school I saw them in the vending machines. When I walked up to the Walgreens, they had Oreos everywhere. I saw a couple ads with oreo icecream at Baskin Robbins in the window. So eventually I got some Oreos. Advertising really does influence consumer behavior.
